I've discovered that this is actually a point of contention
From my personal (albeit anecdotal) experience most'people with disabilities' (including myself) vastly favor handicapped people to individuals with disabilities ( and that we came to Animal Crossing Bells this conclusion separately really says something, I presume .)
To me it seems'individuals with disabilities is a term that has come from people that are not disabled, thinking that we don't desire our identities concentrated on what we can't do. But guess what, if you live with a disability that's sort of hopeless. Disregard whatever anyone with no handicap writes or says about it ( even if they are a Physician or say they're an ally) take on board the view of disabled Men and Women
In the medical field, we've been moving away from'disabled people' toward'people with disabilities', since the former makes it look that the handicap is central to the person, whereas the latter puts the person first, along with the disability is simply something that they happen to have.
Edit: Hmm upon additional research, I've discovered that this is actually a point of contention, and also the use of'disabled people' has been pushed in part due to the idea that the planet is the one that is not equipped adequately to include them, and so they are'disabled' by the planet. However it seems there's a fantastic amount support for both sides, so it's been fascinating to hear your perspectives. Some guidelines call for authors to ask the person being known (if a specific individual is being referred to) exactly what their taste is, just because of these disagreements. Some other endeavors include avoiding the usage of Buy Nook Miles Ticket the word'normal' (such as using words like'typical' instead), not certain what you think of this?
