Exactly! We haven't even gotten any Animal Crossing Items actual new content aside from... pumpkins? Every upgrade so far has just been adding things from past games. While it's nice to have upgrades to pull me back to the match it'd be even nicer to add new characters/events/furniture that we haven't seen before.I thought it was only coincidental that the game was released through lock down. Now I really don't know what to think
There is a whole lot of things lost but a slew of developments too. Nowadays, I'm not really amazed when a new applications (like games) neglect to add features of the past iterations. The missing sets I can understand with the frequent updates and it appears to follow the Animal crossing mobile game model, but things like: villagers moving in and outside homes, asking to See your Home, hide-and-seek type mini games, random actions like kicking around a soccer ball are thing that gave villagers lifetime
Honestly, this is one of the reasons I couldn't get into NH. One of my favorite items in NL was that you could simply speak with the villagers and they would always have something interesting to say about the city or the time of the weather or what they or you were wearing and they'd often provide you a bit of task or a question after only some interactions. I think I could count on the amount of tasks I have been given in NH on one hand and even though I haven't played that much that they rarely tell me something fresh. I actually really miss NL's music but I think that's the case for most people
One day, I left a character named Jane thinking somehow she would react differently. She did not. The odd thing is, they included sassy comments but at the completely wrong places. Sass me for Animal Crossing Bells For Sale providing dumb answers to queries, dropping you in a pitfall, wearing ugly clothes, etc..
